Grant bides his time over selection
Avram Grant admits he is facing one of the toughest decisions of his managerial career ahead of Sunday's Carling Cup final against Tottenham at Wembley. Grant is agonising over whether to recall captain John Terry and midfielder Frank Lampard. Both players were absent when Chelsea clinched a place in the final and while Grant says it is not his intention to punish them for being injured, he accepts there is a case of rewarding those who got them to Wembley. "I think always about the next game," admitted Grant. "John and Frank were injured but I don't intend to punish any player that wants to play. They both wanted to play every game, even every training game, but they were injured. I am not going to punish them for that or because other players played very good." He added: "Rewarding players is not the main thing but I am thinking about that.

The Complete Guide to iTunes Movie Rentals, Part 2
Apple's portable video strategy has come a long way since the fifth-generation iPod was released in 2005, supporting only 320 x 240 video content—roughly the equivalent of TV sets sold thirty years earlier. Today, traditional iPod and iPhone models support near-DVD quality content, while the Apple TV almost demands high-definition video. Despite the differences between its various devices, Apple has tried to remain fairly consistent with videos available from the iTunes Store: you could be assured that any video purchased from the iTunes Store would play on all of Apple's devices. While the videos didn't take advantage of the greater potential of the Apple TV, or a computer with a huge, high-resolution monitor, the choice of the 5G iPod's upgraded 640 x 480 resolution as a lowest common denominator avoided consumer confusion over whether Apple's files would play on their devices.
Pat McKee: High School Q&A
If any coaches have questions about the process, they can e-mail me or call me and I will clarify it. Question: With Pike going 6-0 and defeating Columbus North 33-14, do you feel that this team really has a chance to go undefeated this year? (Kyle from Indianapolis) Answer: Pike has put itself in an excellent position to go undefeated in the regular season. The playoffs at some point will offer a higher level of competition, and Pike will have to show it can succeed against those teams. But it has shown it is capable of a great year. We'll just have to see what happens. .
Rush Gives Up?
His vision of a universal health care system is one that will be sufficiently generous that even families in, say, the 89th percentile of the income distribution never feel inclined to make private expenditures for additional services on top of what the government provides and that won't involve any potentially innovation-starving price controls. That, I'm inclined to agree, really would be very expensive. "And if you could really pay for such a system by severely means-testing Social Security benefits I wouldn't have a particular objection to that." I'm declaring Fallows-style victory (which is not necessarily the same thing as having won). ... 10:51 P.M Maybe Jeff Jarvis is Right: I've resisted kicking Dell when it's down--I've been a relatively happy Dell customer for several years.
Gadgets Greenpeace Launches Campaign Against "Toxic" Gaming Consoles
The games consoles market is one of the fastest growing in consumer electronics with over 60 million sold and 14 percent growth last year," Greenpeace explained on its newly launched Clash of the Consoles website. "These consoles contain toxic chemicals and can contribute to the massive growth of electronic waste that's often dumped, causing widespread environmental pollution and health problems for unprotected workers." Greenpeace has been pushing for the entire electronics manufacturing industry to replace the use of toxic chemicals such as brominated flame retardants (BFRs) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) with safer alternatives, the environmental group believes that none of the consoles produced by the big three are toxic-responsible. "We've checked how the environmental performances of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo measure up on toxics, recycling and energy use," said Greenpeace.
